How can I exclude 2 NICs of a Proliant Server from monitoring ?

Dear All,
when I check the status of our Proliant Server on the System Mgmt Homepage - it always shows 2 of the 6 existing network interface cards as failed (amber).
These 2 NICs are simply not is use and not connected - which is wanted as such. We therefore would like to suppress this alert but don't know how to put only these 2 NICs into kind of a maintenance mode ? Any hint greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

disable them in the server bios, or plug in some kind of "terminator".

Did not find another way either...

kind regards

Disable them in device manager.

Hello Markus & Pete,
thanks for your hints. This led me to the solution which is:

The command ifconfig vmnicx down on the ESX CLI works.

You can add this command in the boot script (/etc/rc.local file) because on the next boot it will be up again.

Now HP SIM is happy and shows the ESX server as up with no failed devices.
Thanks2all for your help.
