How to Install SIM agents on ESX Servers 3.5 without SSH

Hi,

Customer having BL460C Blade Servers loaded with ESX 3.5
They have a DR site with the same setup. Customer replicating the primary site VM images VReplicator. When we installed ssh on the esx servers, replication not working properly. Can somebody help us in deploying SIM agents without SSH.

Copy the tar file to the ESX host, expand it, cd down to the correct directory and use the install script. You may need to open the ESX firewall to allow some kind of file copy. I open the SMB port and mount a shared drive that has the tar file on it.

The installtion instructions are all in the README file.
You might also want to follow the example and edit up a hpmgmt.conf file to use in a silent install. You can then copy this file around and get a consistent installation.

I understood about the installation. But can I avoid ssh from being installed.

openssh is installed on ESX as part of the ESX install, it's not included, as far as I can tell, in the Agents Install.

You don't need to use ssh to be able to install the HP agents though.

No idea what would happen if you've removed ssh from ESX though.
