I have successfully install HP SIM v6.3 however, I wonder how is it possible to configure HP-SIM v6.3 to call back to base whenever there is hardware error ?
Any suggestion please ?
Thanks.

SolutionLocal notification is certainly possible.
Carry the following:
Options > Events > Automatic event handling > E-mail Setings
and input your SMTP Server details etc. You will notice on this screen there is only the option to send a test e-mail.
To set up the event notification:
Options > Events > Automatic event handling > New task
you can now go through the wizard and define which systems, which events, e-mail recipients etc.
Hope this helps,
regards,
Steve.B.

Re: How to configure HP SIM so that it forward email to HP support center (back to base) ?
I didn't read the subject field of your original question - apologies.
As only events that require action will get logged with HP - you will see Major and Critical events as in the first reply via local e-mail.
You will only receive an email from HP regarding events logged if they are actioned or if any information is missing or incorrect - this will be a manually generated e-mail.
As you must be using Insight Remote Support Advanced to be able to log calls direct with HP - this includes a product called WEBes which has an application named SEA - System Event Analyser - you can view the status of any calls logged remotely with HP - please see the installation guide here for more information:

Re: How to configure HP SIM so that it forward email to HP support center (back to base) ?
There's a suite of programs you'll need to install alongside HPSIM to do this. It can be installed as part of the HPSIM install.
The components you'll be looking for are RSSWM and WEBES. The phone home software is part of these components.
You also need to have a maintenance contract!

Re: How to configure HP SIM so that it forward email to HP support center (back to base) ?
Thanks Steve,
the documentation page shows that the WEBES page is no longer accesible:
WEBES Documentation WEBES
Note: The Web Based Enterprise Services (WEBES) software and its accompanying documentation is no longer available as a standalone download. The functionality to analyze events has been fully incorporated into HP Insight Remote Support. HP Insight Remote Support has many advantages over WEBES, including the ability to automatically submit actionable cases to HP including the device's entitlement. You are strongly advised to replace WEBES with HP Insight Remote Support and further details can found atwww.hp.com/go/insightremotesupport.

Re: How to configure HP SIM so that it forward email to HP support center (back to base) ?
Hi Rob,
Sorry to bump up the old thread, my HP SIM version info are as follows:
Version: Systems Insight Manager 5.3 with SP1 - Windows
Build version: C.05.03.01.00
Build date: 2009-03-28 21:04
HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager 3.5.1
HP Insight Remote Support A.05.70
I couldn't find the help or documentation, the person who manages the HP SIM is no longer with us, but the HP SIM error event was still sent to HP thus causing confusion.
