Re: How to configure psp on linux server
HS - HWarestatus: Click for detail. (but when i click, there's no details) -- Means u have not installed PSP properly here. When u install it u will get SMH when u click on this icon. or u can go there by "http://
MP- no management processor disovered -- It clearly says you have not discovered iLO. so discover iLO in SIM.
SW - VC Agent not found --Only for windows so no use
VPM - nothing --Only for windows do no use
Product name - linux server (instead of the hardware model like HP DL380G5 etc)-- It is the same case i told u psp not installed or SNMP settings are not proper.
OS Name - nothing --same as above reason.
So its ok hpldu is not required so move to other one. once it started restart service as i mentioned in previous mail. and please paste all contents of snmpd.conf after installing PSP.
One by one.
Note: Everything fine means yopu should have server detected by proper
1. name (Proliant DL360 g1 or what it is)
2. everything else like protocol and OS name fine.
3. when click hw status it should go to SMH page this u can even check by "http://
I can understand you r new here but thats how u learn. please read my all mail from start may be i miss something here or there.
Thanks for asking question please try to assign points and appreciate more people to come and answer.

Re: How to configure psp on linux server
Sorry for the late reply. I do encounter the same problem when i install the psp. I used ./install.sh --nui -f which also prompts me for the nfs. If i use merely ./install, it seems that not all the components get installed.
It's quite complicated to use..haha....are u able to provide me your email so that i can contact u direct?

Re: How to configure psp on linux server
these are some of the things that i discover in the installation.
when i do an ./install.sh -nui
there are several fields that i need to change for it to work slightly better.
As below
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Please enter the Operating System (OS) Group Names for Administrator level access. (Max 5 names, separated by semicolon or space) []:
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Please enter the Operating System (OS) Group Names for Operator level access. (Max 5 names, separated by semicolon or space) []:
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Please enter the Operating System (OS) Group Names for User level access. (Max 5 names, separated by semicolon or space) []:
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Allow Local Access? (Yes/No) [NO]: yes
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Local Access Type: :
Anonymous
Administrator
Please enter selection exactly as it appears above. [Default = Anonymous]
=> Administrator
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Allow Anonymous Access? (Yes/No)) [NO]: yes
The hpsmh-2.1.11-197.x86_64.rpm component requires input:
Trust Mode: :
TrustByCert
TrustByName
TrustByAll
Please enter selection exactly as it appears above. [Default = TrustByCert]
=> TrustByAll
I wonder whether there's any issue entering the above selection?
After which,
i changed the snmp.conf file to reflect the following
com2sec hpagent default xxxx
group hpgroup v1 hpagent
group hpgroup v2c hpagent
group hpgroup usm hpagent
view all included .1
access hpgroup "" any noauth exact all all all
trapcommunity xxxx
trapsink 172.17.166.111 xxxx
trap2sink 172.17.166.111 xxxx
informsink 172.17.166.111 xxxx
authtrapenable 1
syscontact ownerofserver
syslocation Singapore
The results were ----
I can detect the servers.
Various information like OS , syslocation were correct.
BUT ----
when i click on the system mgmt homepage, it doesnt show the individual details like processor, memory etc, it just shows
"no failed/degraded items "
Need your guidance on this.
