How to determine that HP SIM has received snmp trap

HP SIM is working with no problems however I'm not receiving any email notifications from HP SIM when the VMWare Virtual Center (VC) Server sends SNMP traps to HP SIM. Is there any tool or somewhere I can look to see if the traps are making it to the HP SIM server from the VC Server?

Re: How to determine that HP SIM has received snmp trap

If you have VC installed on an HP Server that has the HP Agents then you could use the HP Management Agent GUI to send a trap.
If HPSIM gets this okay you know its the VC that isn't correctly configured.
A lot of the VC snmp traps just turn up as Informational, no alerts are generated so check the Events for the server VC is hosted on.

Otherwise you can get hold of a number of snmp listening tools that will pick up if an snmp trap has been received.

You can look under events to see what SIM is receiving from a particular server.

Or you can click on all events to see , ehmm , all events :)
