IP Address change on Server using HP Managment

Hi

I have recenltly change a number of servers in my domain to a layer 3 network, after the change i am no longer able to connect to the servers on https://servername:2381 or 2301..

Do i need to reinstall the agents??

Which version of SMH are you using?

Just try restarting the System Management Homepage.

Variuos diffrent versions.. Restarting does not work..

I have found the solution and you have to remove and reinstall the Agents on every Server... ;o(

Re: IP Address change on Server using HP Managment

Sounds unbelievable to me - can you explain a little more detailed?

What exactly was the change you performed? Can you access the SMH when you are logged on to the server locally? Is it a problem of name resolution, meaning
https://ip.ad.re.ss:2381 works fine ?

So many questions ...

Re: IP Address change on Server using HP Managment

The SMH does work fine but that uses Https://localhost:2381 or 127.0.0.1, which has not changed...

The ip address of the server and the D/G has changed.. on all the servers that have changed the SMH does not work unless i remove restart and re-install the agents..

I have tried restarting the SNMP and All Agents and the server all to no avail.

Re: IP Address change on Server using HP Managment

So it's a problem of name resolution.
In such cases I use ipconfig /flushdns on the SIM server and/or start the Discovery / Identify process in SIM. It sometimes has occurred that I had to remove the server from SIM and rediscover it, but that's only because I don't completely understand why SIM keeps the old links ansd states "there is no system management homepage ..."
