Insight Control is not installing over SIM. (service account credentals are not valid)

1) i have installed SIM 5.1 SP2.
SIM is using SQL 2005 full edition.
it was installed using special domain account DOMAIN\hpinsight.
This domain account was added to local Administrators group.
SIM is working correctly.
All SIM services are starting using this domain account.

i have tried to install Insight Control (ICDVD-2.10-en) over SIM, but failed
(examine screenshot)

2) recently i've upgraded SIM 5.1 SP2 to SIM 5.2
Again, i've tried to install Insight Control (ICDVD-2.21-en)
But this error occured again.


The question is.. Why IC failes to install?

Domain field is blank, but it SHOULD NOT be !
i am typing password 100% correct.
i've tried to create local user named "hpinsight" and added him to Administrators.
i've backed up globalsettings.props and tried to set other user.

But this error is occuring over and over again.

You have SIM 5.2 already Installed. Why you are installing it again using ICE DVD2.21(i guess SIM5.2 is latest already)? any reason?

can try installing SIM form setup.exe find in ICDVD in hpsim folder. just to see more on this issue?

i'm not installing SIM over SIM.

i'm trying to install Insight Control Management.

ps: i was able to successfully install SIM 5.2 over SIM 5.1 SP2 (upgrade)

u mean with same database.props entry u were able to upgrade to 5.2? if yes then ICM should also do right.

ICM not able to detect domain name correctly. Check Entry (for hostname)in database.props? if not then add it there and try.

yep, database and global settings are okay.
and i have not modified them since first installation.

did u try with account name as "DOMAIN\hpinsight"? or try adding ur hostname in database.props as mentioned earlier and see.

username and domain fields are read-only. password field in the only writable field.

i have tried:
1) logging on using DOMAIN\hpinsight
2) creating local user "SERVERNAME\hpinsight" with the same password and granting hin local admin permissions
2) modifying database and global properties so the local account is used.
(my domain was already specified here)
3) switching all SIM services to be running using local account
4) changing two slashes to one slashe in the properties files
("DOMAIN\\hpinsight" to "DOMAIN\hpinsight")

... no luck

i will suggest u that please log it as an issue in support. The best way and right way so if its an issue will be tracked.
