Insight Foundation Agent failing to start

I have a server that is getting an error stating that the HP Insight Foundation Agent service failed to start because the service didn't respond in a timely manner. The System event viewer shows EventID 7000.

I have attempted to restart the service manually with no luck.

According to the properties of that service, it depends on the HP NIC agents, Insight Server Agents, Insight Storage agents and SNMP, all of which are running. I have checked to make sure that SNMP is set up properly on the host. Does anyone have ideas as to why this service won't start?

You might also check to see if the HP proliant remote monitor service is started.

I just checked and it is running. I restarted the service and am still having the issue.

It sounds like something got corrupted during the install. Maybe at this point you should uninstall the HP Management Agents, reboot (unfortunately) and reinstall.
