Insight Power Management Config

Hello,

Having trouble getting this function enabled.

I have SIM 5.3 SP1
I've added an Advanced iLo license to a DL380 G5 and can now get the full graphical iLo connection.

I've installed HP Insight Power Manager on the SIM server.

When I click down on the specific server it's still asking for a license...( see attached)

What am I missing ?

Thanks
Mark.

Re: Insight Power Management Config

You need a license for HP Insight Power Manager (IPM).

Re: Insight Power Management Config

You also have to apply the IPM license to the servers that you want to monitor.
Technically the license is not applied to the servers but rather HP SIM associates an IPM license to the servers you wish to use IPM features.

Also

When I try:

http://www.hp.com/go/ipm

I seem to get redirected to HP Insight Control management software.

Has this software been withdrawn now and replaced with Insight Control?

Thanks

Re: Insight Power Management Config

There are some free trial licenses available under below link;

https://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=HPICEVAL

here you can select IPM from software specification list. And once you fill up the customer informations you will get free trial licenses. You can give try to add those license in HP SIM license manager and apply to the target servers if it is possible to monitor the servers.

And yes, Insight Control management is rebranded to "Insight Software".

Re: Insight Power Management Config

Many Thanks for that.

This has got me to the next level.

However now it keeps saying that I have not provided the correct credentials.

I've entered all the account details including the iLo one's everywhere I can think off to get this to work.

See attached

Any hints?

Thanks

Re: Insight Power Management Config

Make sure HP SIM has correct credentials for the management processors and is creating sign-in credentials. Use the HP SIM 'System Credentials' page to verify this.

If using ProLiant iLO 1.79 or later, be aware of the problem and workaround described here:
