Is there any way to customize monitoring for unsupported SNMP device

Hi,

We have some SNMP devices that wanted to be added into SIM for monitoring, any interface for this? For example, SNMP OID polling, integrate data from script, etc.

Hello,

So you want to monitor other SNMP devices and SIm does not have a mib loaded for this type of device ?

You can add MIBS in SIM to monitor your devices if you want, i call tell you where to add the MIBS if that is your question.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Re: Is there any way to customize monitoring for unsupported SNMP device

Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for reply.

Yes it will be very helpful to us if we can add any device MIB to SIM and polling any private OID date into SIM.

For example. these is a firewall, UPS or storage device that not supported by default, we need to add monitoring for things like CPU, Memory by adding private OID. Then we can check device status from SIM.

My concern is even we add MIB for these devices, we still cannot polling the private OID, we need to customize them.

Is it possible to customize private OID? If yes could you please provide a guide?

Re: Is there any way to customize monitoring for unsupported SNMP device

Hello,

When you add MIBS in SIM this only realy works for SNMP trap translation status polling is not part of the solution.

So if you add the MIB you can translate the OID's to readable events and these events can be forwarded or an action can be triggered if an SNMP trap is received.

Kind regards,

Andrew
