Looking for an HP SIM "test" database

I am looking to demonstrate HP SIM as part of an IT solution as part of my MIS university course. I've installed the latest SIM client (5.2 with SP1) along with the included MS SQL Server 2005 2 weeks ago, but it obviously needs to be populated to be an effective presentation.

It there an HP SIM "test" database available somewhere?

Thank you.

Re: Looking for an HP SIM "test" database

unfortunately no. There used to be an internal demo tool available. It is now outdated...

Your best solutions would be :
1/Get your hand on another ProLiant server, install windows on it + Vmare server, create a few vms this should be enough for demonstrating HP SIM. If HP SIM is already running on a ProLiant server, install vmware and create vms. Even though it is not reallly a recommended , nor a supported config, this should do for your purpose.

2/Use Videos that are available on the HP SIM website...

3/Use non HP hardware for managed devices (for HP SIM is also able to manage them), install vmware and create vms.

hope it helps.

Thanks for replying Fred.

I'll try VMWare and also see if I can get into the MySQL database directly.

Have a nice day!
