MIBs in HP SIM
Hi ,
MIBs can be loaded into HP SIM . But how does the HP SIM gets the information from the MIB . HP SIM does not provide MIB Walk through .
I am running into practical scenario where in MIB for a particular node is provided . Using this MIB , how can HP SIM get the information .
It would be very helpful if any one provide info on this .
Regards
Sach

Re: MIBs in HP SIM
The helpfiles explain how to use mcompile and mxmib.
These are command line tools you have to use to compile/verify the mib and register it on the CMS.
Search your CMS help for MIB for details on how to use these tools.

Re: MIBs in HP SIM
Typically it doesn't. I believe the main use of the MIB's is to decode snmp traps when they're recieved.
There may be some use of the MIBs during device identification etc. where HPSIM uses SNMP to interrogate the device.
