MSA 1000
Hi
I have Insight manager Windows 2003
Version: Systems Insight Manager 5.0 with SP5 - Windows
Build version: C.05.00.02.00
Build date: 2006-05-23 11:07
running on on DL 380 G2 with 7.6 SPS installed I downloaded the SMI pack and installed it but I still cant see the MSA1000 and Tape Libraries MSL 5030 connected to the Server via Fibre, there is also one logical drive provided by the MSA1000 on this server. What else needs to be done to male this work?
Thanks

Re: MSA 1000
Hi
Once you have installed the SMI-s provider on the server, you need to configure both the provider and HP SIM so they communicate together via WBEM.
on the server where te provider is now installed :
open a prompt and go to the following folder
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SMI-S\cimom
the UserAccountsManager.bat command is the one you need to run to administrate the credentials needed for the WBEM protocol.
USAGE:
To get list of groups and users:
PasswordsConfig -(LG|ListGroups)
To change password:
PasswordsConfig -(CP|ChangePassword) -U
NewPassword>
To add user:
PasswordsConfig -(AU|AddUser) -G
To remove user:
PasswordsConfig -(DU|DeleteUser) -U For Usage information:
PasswordsConfig -(?/h)
To set passwords file -DPASSWORDS_FILE
NOTE:Group names are case insensitive
NOTE:Usernames and passwords are case sensitive
for example :to list the users
UserAccountsManager.bat -LG
Groupname:Administrator
UserName:Administrator
Password:Administrator
UserName:administrator
Password:password
Groupname:User
UserName:user
Password:user
Therefore,on the HP SIM server under the option menu/Protocol Settings/global protocol settings, make sure that one of the user listed in wbem part matches one setup using the UserAccountsManager.bat.
