Managment Processor Does Not Show Up in Insight Manager
At very random times on random servers when in Insight Manager I will search for a server via the search box. Once SIM finds it the manamgnet process reports as not being there (See attachment). Once i click on the server to find out more information, i can see the managment process (see attachment).
Why under the origional search view is the managment processor not visable sometimes?
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Managment Processor Does Not Show Up in Insight Manager
Hi
According to the pictures, the ilo is discovered through its serial number only, this occures when the the DNS configuration is incorrect.
Check the forward and reverse dns configuration for this Ilo.
create a discovery task for this device in the option menu, launch it and see how it goes.
If it fixes the issue, delete the discovery task for this ilo.
hope it helps
fred

Re: Managment Processor Does Not Show Up in Insight Manager
Hi,
I have a discovery that runs every hour on our ILO subnet. ILO is given address's via DHCP.
Are serial numbers the only attribute that SIM looks for to match ILO ports up with Servers or does Product ID come into play as well.
Thanks,
Ryan
