Moving HP SIM from 5.3 to 6.2 on new server hardware

Looking to upgrade our HP SIM from 5.3 to 6.2 and move to a new server and remote SQL DB.

Current server is Win2k3 32-bit and DB is SQL 2005 .. new ones will be Win2k8R2 (x64) and maybe SQL 2008 (remote SQL).

Can I export and import the config ?
The mxexport command util does not seem to exist under 5.3, even though the doc says it can be used to go from 5.3 ??

Will it matter if the SIM hostname and IP address are different as a result of the migration ? - Guess I just re-configure one of the agents and then replicate settings ? (I have 250+ remote HP servers monitored by SIM).

Thanks
Mark.

Re: Moving HP SIM from 5.3 to 6.2 on new server hardware

migration doesn't support from 5.3 to 6.2. better you use below paper for it, it worked fine for me.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02540597/c02540597.pdf

only thing is migration is automated process which you need to do manually as migration doesn't support 5.3 to 6.2.

Note: Migration just supports 5.3 to 6.0. migration for 5.3 is separate downloadable.
