NIC Agents error Event ID 269 after updating PSP 7.40

Hello,
After an Update of PSP 7.40 (7.10 install before) the NIC Agents doesn't work.
I have an error message in the system Event of Windows 2000. The Event number is 269.
The network card is working well but not the Agent.

We've had similar, after upgrading from 5.40 to 7.40. Do you still have the compaq mgmt agent util in crtl panel? Looks to me like the upgrade doesn't remove the old agents properly

We had the same problem, with the same error message. We however had the compaq management agents icon in the control panel, and the agent was listed in the inactive list on the right. We made it active and all is now working. It seemed a bit to easy, but it is still up and running after multiple reboots.
