NTFS File System Corruption

Going out on a limb, here, but would HP SIM catch something like file system corruption? We received an error in the System log:

"Source: Ntfs
Description: The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume..."

This is actually showing up on the shared drive of a cluster. Is it possible that hardware problems could cause file system corruption? I'm worried this may be a sign that the hard drive may be degraded.

HPSIM doesn't really pick up anything like that, it is up to the agents monitoring the Server to send the information (via snmp) back.
I do not believe the HP Agents would pick up that kind of thing.

With the HP Servers, the Firmware on the disks should report to the agents that a disk is about to fail (SMART). That can depend on where the disks are. If the disks are in a SAN you need to ensure you have the right agents monitoring the SAN.
