New install of SIM 5.1 fails to contact database
Hi,
I tried to install SIM 5.1 on a newly installed XP workstation. I also have a dedicated SQL server for storing the SIM database. Installation documentation says that it is possible to install sim 5.1 on a windows XP.
The problem is that installation program claims that the user has insufficent rights to the database even it is not the case.
Here is the installation log.

Re: New install of SIM 5.1 fails to contact database
Hi Jari - This was some time ago, so I'm assuming you got beyond the error? I'm having a similar problem trying to install using a distince SQL database server and instance. Did you find a solution to your issues, and if so, do you mind sharing how you got it to work?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: New install of SIM 5.1 fails to contact database
Hi People,
This is a known issue and it is solved within SP1 for SIM 5.1. You can download the newest version of 5.1 and sp1 from the sim homepage.
greets,
Alex

Re: New install of SIM 5.1 fails to contact database
Hi there.
I'm trying to install the 5.1SP1 on a win2K3 and pointing to a different server (win2K3) where the DB is stored (with SQL2005) and having this same problem...
