No Event entries after upgrading to v7.4 (plus DB migration to SQL2012)
Hello.
We have following problem:
We migrated the database from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012
We did the update from HP SIM v7.3 to V7.4
Everything was done correctly. HP SIM DB Connection works, Webserver is startet and we are able to connect.
Problem:
We wont get any new entries in the HP SIM Event logs.
mxgetdbinfo >> successfull
Attachment: mxdomainmgr.0.log file.
It shows us "Warnings"
27 Nov 15:47:01,523 WARN [JMSContainerInvoker] destination not found: queue/MDBInstallandConfigure reason: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: MDBInstallandConfigure not bound
27 Nov 15:47:01,523 WARN [JMSContainerInvoker] creating a new temporary destination: queue/MDBInstallandConfigure

27 Nov 15:47:10,210 WARN [SingletonEhCacheProvider] Could not find a specific ehcache configuration for cache named [HPSIM.com.hp.mx.raapis.entities.ExtendedEventEntity]; using defaults.
We have also tried to send test traps, but we wont get any events. Anyway the traps are generated in the traps folder.
Sending a test Email works!
Any Ideas?

Do the events get handled in the Trap folder or does it keep growing ??

Hello.
The event are handled in the trap folders and are deleted instantly. If I am monitoring the traps folder, I see that the server recieves the traps, but the CMS does not generate any events and further no e-mail notifications.

Hello,
Could be a database problem use the build-in database repair tool in SIM
called mxconfigrepo -c for check and option -f for fixing database problems.

Re: No Event entries after upgrading to v7.4 (plus DB migration to SQL2012)
I see a lot of DB fix entries in the log from the 27th. Do you still get these errors when you restart the SIM service ?
So if you look on the left of your SIm screen, look at events > Shared > Events by Security > All Events you don't see anything ? There should at least be login and logout events. Also look under Options > Events > Event Filter Settings.
The second check, Critical, Major, Minor, Warning & Informational should be on. Do you use SNMP and WBEM for your event trapping ??

Re: No Event entries after upgrading to v7.4 (plus DB migration to SQL2012)
The last event entries I see, are those before the upgrade / migration.
A simply check I do, is a false login. We get no email or event entry since the db migration and the version upgrade.

Did you run the hotfix for 7.4 just to be sure?

Re: No Event entries after upgrading to v7.4 (plus DB migration to SQL2012)
Is the database name, instance the same as before the update or did you move to an other database or server?
