No "external storage" in SMH nor via HP Array Config Utility

Since a couple of weeks we have noticed that the HBA adapter (Qlogic) connected to our EVA3000 doesn't monitor our disk cabinets anymore.

On two Windows servers I have installed the latest SMH and Management Agents from Support Pack 8.1, however this isn't bringing a solution.
The EVA is connected to 3 windows servers and 3 VMWARE 3.5 servers (unfortunately you can't monitor 'External Storage' via the VMware HP Mangement Agents.

Only thing we get in the SMH is 'Storage Connections' which shows the HBA details.

Anyone an idea what went wrong?

P.S.
Last monday I moved the SMI-S provider to a new server so the EVA is displayed again in HPSIM, however this way it's not possible to monitor the disks in the disk cabinets (we have two of 14 disks).

I don't think the EVA disks have ever been visible via the HBAs.
They're discovered via CommandView. They show up as separate storage systems.

That was another route I was thinking of.. so you would need to have webes to have disk failures reported?

For the EVA, yes webes is a good tool. And if you have the required support you also install ISEE. That way when a disk fails in the EVA a call is automatically logged through to HP.
