Notification Throttling of SNMP Traps
Is it possible to throttle alerts generated by SNMP traps received from the same device or devices? Recently I setup SIM to receive traps from a pair of load balancing devices. When the devices are unable to reach one or more servers, they generate an SNMP trap for each outage at every test (several times a minute). This morning I had over 800 alerts in SIM regarding a pair of servers that were down for a half hour or so.
Wondering if I can "fix" this with SIM or if I should move these devices to another SNMP monitoring platform (specifically we also use Intellipool Network Monitor).
