A challenge has been propsed to me. We use SIM to monitor, amongst other things, when a server goes down. This works great. One thing I would like to implement is a notification of when that server comes back up. I can't seem to find this any where when I add an event. This seems like a reasonably simple request, so if anyone has any feedback or can point me to a wiki or how to manual, I would appreciate that...

Re: Notifications question
There are a couple of events generated but they're informational ones unlike the outage which is critical.
If you click on a server name in HPSIM you can drill down and see events specific to that server. So if you've recently rebooted a server you should see the evens generated when it comes back up.
From memory there are a couple generated.

Solution
I set up a separate event to send me an e-mail when the servers are reachable. When you set up the task, at the Events drop down box, just select: event type is Systems Insight Manager Events and type name is System is reachable. This has worked like a charm for me!
