P2V Post Migration Tasks
Hi
I used the P2V migration tool integrated with HP SIM and it worked successfully. I am planning on using the VM image i now have of a live server for development purposes but I will be renaming it and putting it back into the same domain. I have changed the IP address and name of the server.
My question is, is there anything else i need to do before adding it into the domain? Do i need to use a tool like "New SID" to change the SID before adding into the domain?
The server is running SQL, so is there any other steps i need to take?
Thanks for your help

Re: P2V Post Migration Tasks
You probably want to google changing the name of a server running SQL. There are quite a few threads. And yes, there are other steps to be done.
I'd suggest using a tool to change the SUID may be a good idea if you're going to keep the original server online.
