PSP-7.60 rhel4 install failure
I've been trying to get the latest ProLiant Support Pack (7.60) installed on a DL380 G4 with RHEL 4 AS.
Never had an issue with these installs before, but this time I'm struggling.
After the following question I get a stream of warnings in the log file:
Do you wish to reconfigure the HP Server Management Homepage? [Y/N]y
The log file then reads:
warning: user hpsmh does not exist - using root
warning: group hpsmh does not exist - using root
repeated 1122 times followed by:
chown: `hpsmh:hpsmh': invalid user
chown: `hpsmh:hpsmh': invalid user
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
chgrp: invalid group name `hpsmh'
chgrp: invalid group name `hpsmh'
chgrp: invalid group name `hpsmh'
chgrp: invalid group name `hpsmh'
chown: `root:hpsmh': invalid group
error: %post(hpsmh-2.1.6-156.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
Installation of this component FAILED because of an error in the RPM installation.
So, thinking I'm clever, I have tried creating this group before I start the install. The errors happen in exactly the same way - and the group has been deleted to boot!
At no point have I managed to get the System Maagement Homepage daemon started either (not sure if this is related).
Is there a fundamental part I'm missing?
Thanks
Duncan
