Password change for admin account of VCR

is it possible to change the admin password of the Version Control Repository after the installation? Where can you do it?

Sure - the password to the Version Control Repository Manager is the same as the web-based agents password for the server where the VCRM is installed. The best way to change the password is to log in at http://server:2301/ and select Settings->Change Password.

Using HPSIM version 5 and 7.3 or later agents, it appears that you are unable to change the the user login id and password that is used by VCRM. Therefore, is this now done elsewhere?

Starting with SS7.20 the authentication model has changed to OS based authentication. If you had a Version Control setup prior to that the System Management Homepage was designed to allow the old Administrator/Operator/User login for Version Control to allow backwards compatibility and not break all the working VC's. So if you had a working VCA using the old login then it should still work. However, after upgrading there is no easy way to change that password if you like. You can go ahead and move to the new authentication model using OS based userid's and you can change those passwords whenever you like through the OS. There are some restrictions and suggestion in the doc it would be best you read through it if you decide to make these changes. If you decide to change to the new userids and you are using HPSIM, then you only have to setup one server with the configuration you want. You can then use the Replicate Agent Settings feature in HPSIM to propagate those changes to the rest of your servers.
