Plan to migrate or do a clean install from 5.3 to 6.0 on new hardware.
Currently our HP SIM 5.3 is on a server that is used for other production applications. I want to move HP SIM to its own server and go with 6.0 when it is available.
What would be the best plan for this?
Just install 6.0 on new hardware and let it create a new database OR try and move the database from 5.3 to 6.0?
Also According to HP SIM 6.0 "whats new"....
"Migration
A new tool will enable you to easily transfer your old settings
from an HP SIM 5.3 CMS to an HP SIM 6.0 CMS". At least I hope I won't have to recreate all the settings and alerts if this utility works.
