Problems with System Management Homepage
We recently upgraded HP System Management Homepage to 6.0.0.96 via HPSUM. For many of the systems, we have problems with the service not starting. Upon looking at the service, the path is C:\hp\hpsmh\bin\smhstart.exe. I look in C:\hp\hpsmh\bin, and there is no exe. It is half empty. What I do notice is that now there is a C:\hp\hpsmh\bin_x64 directory, with this and rest of the files. All these servers are in fact 64bit Windows OS machines.
I've tried simply changing the service path to this directory bin_x64, and it does not work.
I tried to reinstall just the SMH component, and after the install, the bin_x64 directory is now gone, and all the files are now in the normal C:\hp\hpsmh\bin\ directory again. Service starts up fine. However, SMH page now shows no data....
Has anyone noticed anything or aware of any issues with upgrading SMH on a 64 bit OS? I believe this version now supports native 64bit, so is there some issue with the upgrade?
Thanks.

Re: Problems with System Management Homepage
For the first mentioned issue, you should try to rename bin_x64 to bin & then try to start service.
Also, there is an installer log file,:\smh_installer.log, that gives you insight of any issues, happen during installation / upgradation.
Thanks.
Also, there is an installer log file,
Thanks.

Re: Problems with System Management Homepage
Thanks for the information.
I renamed the bin_x64 to bin, and it does allow the HP SMH service to start and brings up the page, however, when logged in, does not show any data (like it does not detect any agents or data sources)... just like when I reinstall the SMH component.
I looked at the smh_installer.log and below is what it shows for the original upgrade:

Re: Problems with System Management Homepage
Are they running 2008 server? If so, check your firewall. That was causing the very same issue with me.
