Problems with Version Control Agents

Folks,

I've search the forum but can't find anything for this problem - I'm hoping someone can help.

I just rebuilt my SIM server from scratch (using version 5.0 with SP5) because of problems caused by an MSDE database migration gone bad. New Win2k3R2 install, new database, etc. Everything seems to be working except for Version Control - most of my servers are showing the blue question mark in the SW column, which indicates that the VC agent isn't configured. I verified that the latest PSP is installed, VC is set up correctly in the target servers System Management Homepages, SNMP is set up correctly, and the trusts are set up correctly, but I still can't get it to work. I've also done the following to try and fix it:

- Ran Configure or Repair Agent
- Ran Identify Systems
- Ran Data Collection
- Ran Software Version Status Polling

What am I missing or doing wrong? It seems like it should be reporting properly.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Re: Problems with Version Control Agents

When you reinstall HPSIM from scratch, it creates a new certificate.
Did you import the new certificate into your target servers System Management Homepage?

A working trust relationship is required for VCA/VCRM to work properly...

Tristan,

Thanks for the response - yes, I did import the new cert. Any other thoughts?

Re: Problems with Version Control Agents

Does the single sign-on feature work?

When you click on a system HW status from the All servers view, it should automatically open the remote System Management Homepage without asking for credentials.

Re: Problems with Version Control Agents

Okay, I have it fixed - I simply removed the cert and added it back in and it worked. Same cert. Go figure.

Thanks again for the responses.

Problem resolved by reinstalling cert.
