Properly manage 2008 R2 server without SNMP, and therefore without HP Insight Agents?
Hi, the question is just as the subjecct line states. We would like not to have SNMP on our new 2008 r2 servers. We don't use it for anything else. So can you properly manage 2008 R2 servers without SNMP, and therefore without HP Insight Agents? It seems as though you can get all the information you need from WBM. Thanks.

ProLiant WBEM (WMI) Providers are available as an alternative to SNMP: http://www.hp.com/go/hpwbem
This became the default management stack with the ProLiant Support Pack a few years ago.

I've never tried to install a PSP without SNMP present though. Although wbem is now the default it would be interesting to see if the PSP will install without SNMP being present.
