Rebuilt 2 servers they are not recognized by SIM/PMP

Running SIM 5.1 on Windows 2003 R2 SP1

I had redeployed two servers that had PMP installed and working properly. The servers are discovered by SIM but no PMP info is available.

I suspect I will need to free up the PMP license used by the server before the rebuild.

When I look at the server details under in SIM, the server shows with the old network name. SIM Server Host File?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Rebuilt 2 servers they are not recognized by SIM/PMP

Did you do a fresh install of Windows or just rename the servers?

SIM keys off of a GUID in the registry and if you do not wipe this GUID (such as when doing server deployment using Sysprep) you will see some wierd things in SIM (because multiple machines have the same GUID).

The key is "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Compaq Insight Agent]". I usually stop the HP agent services, and then delete this whole key. When you restart the services, it automatically creates a new, unique, key (GUIDs within it).
