Re: SIM 5.0 and agents

Hi Ike,

Sorry for that!!!!!!

This is a bit precise....

To install software and firmware:
1. Select Deploy├в Deploy Drivers, Firmware and Agents├в Install Software and Firmware. The Install Software and Firmware page appears.
2. Select target systems. See ├в Creating a task├в for more information.
3. Click Next.
4. Under Select Items to Install, select the repository from which to retrieve the catalog.
Note: This section only displays systems that are authorized by the current user name.
5. Under Contents of selected version control repository, click the icon to drill down and view the contents of the Version Control Repository that you selected.
Note: To expand the tree to display all contents, click the icon located in the upper-left corner of the Contents of selected Version Control Repository section. Click the icon to collapse the listings.
Select the components you want to install.
6. Click Next.

The Select Install Options section appears. The items are installed in the order in which they are listed.
7. (Optional) To reorder the items, select the item to reorder and perform one of the following actions
├в ┬в Click Move Up to advance the item up.
├в ┬в Click Move Down to move the item down.
8. Select Force downgrade or re-install if necessary if you are installing software that is older than or the same as the version currently installed. This option is disabled by default.
9. Select Bring systems to full power before install if you want to bring systems to full power before the installation. If this option is not selected, the installation is attempted and might fail because the
system was not running at full power.
If selected, the target systems are brought to full power before the install is selected.
10. (Optional) Clear the Reboot systems if necessary after successful install option if you do not want to reboot after the installation. However, the successful task status indicates that a reboot is required to
complete the update.
11. Click Schedule to configure a time for the update to occur. See ├в Scheduling a task├в for more information on scheduling the task. Click Previous to return to the previous screen, or click Run Now to immediately
install the software.
If you click Schedule, the Schedule Task section appears.

Hope this helps too!!!

Re: SIM 5.0 and agents

Hi bj,

Then you must be using HP SIM 5.0 SP4.

Hi bj,

If you are using the HP SIM 5.0 SP4, then you would get a HTTP 400 error message at login to the SIM server due to the following reason:
The SP4 patch overwrites the file "\jboss\server\hpsim\conf\jboss-service.xml"

Edit line 450 of the file to show the proper install location of SIM.
If they are installed at "C:\mySIM", then the line should look like this: file:/C:\mySIM\hpwebadmin\webapps: file:///C:\mySIM\hpwebadmin\webapps
