Re: SIM 5.1, server freezing up and needing cold-boot

I don't think the db is the issue though, since SQL is starting normally. I believe it's the web server portion

Brian, That Command will reset "Everything" about SIM; & not just the DB;

Ran the command. The system is up.
Will restore the SQL database back over this one, and that should bring the data back into place in regards to licensing, etc.

Re: SIM 5.1, server freezing up and needing cold-boot

Everything came up, worked great.
Restored the database, and now it locks up again. So it must be db corruption somehow. I assume I can re-load all the information into SIM that can configure the system.. my concern now is the license information (ILO, pmp, etc). I guess I have to try and pull that out of the old db and insert into the new one.

Re: SIM 5.1, server freezing up and needing cold-boot

Looks also like running that mxconfigrepo -a command, installs sim, but without the plug-in applications... so even though they're all still running, they're no longer integrated.

At this point I'm thinking full un-install and re-install. I can start with a fresh db, but I need the license information out of the old one. Any good scripts to migrate that data?

Re: SIM 5.1, server freezing up and needing cold-boot

I restored the db. The version levels for plugins aren't showing properly now, I've started another thread on that. So far it's still running though. I'm not sure what or where the corruption was.

Re: SIM 5.1, server freezing up and needing cold-boot

I just had HP GDS install our HP ICE and the server keeps freezing every 6-8 hours. There must be a tech update for this in HP somewhere or is this just a fluke for us?
To be or not to be, that is the question.
