Xperts,

What are the options to calcuate the Power that is consumed by a server. Can we use SIM for calculating the power options. If so where and how.. Provide me if any documents available for SIM.

My SIM was shipped along with my Storage Essentials and I would like to use SIM for calcuating the power consumption for the servers.

the only way I know of is with insight power manager and it's about 100 bucks a server to calculate the power

That's what I thought, in addition you probably need PDU's that can provide data.

Each single server agents will cost money right.

So is there any other way we can caluculate the power for each server using HP Storage Essentials..

Not that I'm aware of. The way we've got an idea of power usage is to replace the older Rack PDUs we had with those that have a readout on them. We can then have a look at the power consumption of the rack itself.

What's the reason behind wanting the power usage figures?
