SIM 7.0 and VMM plug-in issue
Trying to discover ESX or ESX(i) host and it always times out with the message below (basically the Discovery Task sits on the "Running Virtual Machine Management (VMM) Plug-in Identification... for a long time and then times out):
Running Virtual Machine Management (VMM) Plug-in Identification...
Major: The identification or discovery of this system has timed out, so
the task for this target has failed. If the managed system's CPU is
heavily utilized, then you may want to increase the timeout value
for identification for a single system. To do that, increase the
IdentificationTaskDefaultThreadTimeoutSec property in the
globalsettings.props file to 1800 (30 minutes) or more using the
mxglobalsettings CLI command. For more information, see the online
help.
Any help is appreciated!

Re: SIM 7.0 and VMM plug-in issue
We had the same problem. Discovery worked fine at first but then we started getting the error, which is strange because we don't use VMM. Here's what fixed it for us:
In the application installation directory, in the config\partnerservicexml folder, there was a file named vmm.xml. I deleted this file and restarted the HP Systems Insight Manager service. After that, discovery tasks started functioning normally again.
