SIM Printers

I got SIM to discover my printers but they show up as a "unmanaged" system type. What is the easiest way to change the system type to printers so the will show up under the "All Printers" collections?

Re: SIM Printers

Hello Jon,

Use HP SIM's Configure or Repair Agents function to correct this.

Re: SIM Printers

HI

I am not sure the configure and repair tool could repair the snmp configuration of your Printers.(Never tried it on a printer actually...)

The unmanaged system type means that HP SIM has some difficulties in communicating with the management protocol of your device. In this case, it is most probably SNMP.

Are you sure that your printers are properly setup in terms of snmp Read only Communities ?

check this on noe and modify the necessary parameters. Once done select the printer in HP SIM and go in Options / identify to recheck the device.

hope it helps
