SIM and Procurve 2848 switch
Hi - I am trying to see if I can monitor a 2848 switch using SIM. Specifically, I am trying to see if I can get alerted whenever any given port on the 2848 crosses a pre-designated threshold. Any help is appreciated!

Re: SIM and Procurve 2848 switch
HPSIM seems to have the MIB for that switch loaded.
So what you'll also need to do is configure the switch itself.
That will need an snmp trap destination set to point to the HPSIM Server and you may also need to configure snmp to allow access from the HPSIM Server for identification.
As for crossing thresholds, that is a done by the agents or software on the host. So if teh switch can do that you're set. HPSIM cannot do it on its own though.
So you'll be alerted for any of the events that the switch will generate an alert about plus if the switch itself goes offline.
