SIM will not start

I get the following error when tries to start HPSIM CRM: "Checking for HTTP Status"

I've restarted the services, database and reboot server. but still no luck.

Has anyone experienced similar problem? and what was the resolution to this?

After a reboot or restart of the service HPSIM takes a while to sort itself out.

Watch the CPU on the server, it'll be quite high for 5 minutes or so before dropping off. You cannot usually login until that's happened.

I have left it on for about an hour now and CRM console still would not start up.

Any ideas? please?

How big is you're database...what server are you using for HP SIM?

Insight_V50_0_133931297 database has:

space available at 87.94MB
Free space at 32.34 MB

The server is DL 360 with 2Gig RAM - quad processors.

I had a problem simulare to you had the way i resolve it is did a clean up in my messages,Informationnel ,Critical,ect..

the best of doing this is...OPTION>EVENT>DELETE EVENT...try just informational...non one nedd information...you need critical,major,warning.

Thanks for the reply. but I couldnt even bring up the console to get to that OPTION menu.


How were u able to log in to the console when it doesnt connect?

mine did but 20 minutes later after starting..let me look up this situation that you can't not at all connect.

Yes I'm getting that message.

I left it on for about an hr before and it never came up.

Try:
Stop this services:
HP Performance Management Pack
HP PMP Tools
HP Systems Management Homepage
HP Systems Insight Manger
HP Version Control Repository Manager
HP Virtual Machine MAnagement Service

and restart this one and see what happen:
HP Systems Insight Manger

Verify if you have any erro in you re log of windows?

This can be cause by an installation by the openssh installation not being able to access the file c:\documents and settings\\ssh\authorized_keys2. Just changed the securities on this file ,if it is this ..

I have restart the mentioned services.

SIM service account password was not changed.

No error appeared on the event log.


--still no success.....

The security on .ssh file looked fine.

I was able to open the console last week. and it just wouldnt open since yesterday.

I'm stumped...

Did you remove any right from the users you are using for insight from the profile.

Does this happen from remote connection (from web page on another computer),did you try localy with account thta have full right in the machine?

What database are you using MSDE,SQL express 2005,SQL 200 Ent,ect?

Is you re database on the server of SIM or another?

I did not remove any user rights.

This problem occurs from the local machine itself with full rights

I'm using SQL2K

The SQL database is on the SIM server itself


-Also, what is the URL to connect to the console remotely?

I get "Page can not be displayed" error when tries to connect remotely.

Yes. I'm new to SIM. so I have no clue what to do next. I've tried everything I could.

it like it can't access to the database (HP SIM) for a reason,you could get this for password,user right,access database, ect..

Where do I go to change the password for SIM database, if in fact that it was changed?
