SMH not showing external storage

Hi Forum,
good to be back after some break. Here goes:
Running SLES9 SP3 on Proliant 380 G4. For some reason the connection to MSA1500 has disappeared.
I have restarted all the hpsmhd and hpasmd and even rebooted, but it stays gone.
Anyone knows how to get it back ?
