SNMP Traps not received in hpsim

Hello,

I am using Systems Insight Manager 4.2 with SP1 - Windows
build - C.04.02.00.01
When i want to send a testtrap from another server HPSIM does not receives it.

The server where HPSIM is running on receives the trap becuase i see them ariving in Dell openmanage

even when i stop Dell openmanage they don't come up in HPSIM

Please can someone help me because we want to monitor about 200 HP servers

Are the community names set up correctly, HPSIM needs to know the community name of the trap. Especially if you've changed it from the default.

HPSIM just uses the standard SNMP Trap Listener as far as I know, so that needs to be running.

The Trap Send from the HP Management Agents GUI sends a generic trap that is recognised as a Major Event, I got mislead when traps were being interpreted as Informational which you only see by listing all events.

Wel thats very strange

Som servers can send snmp traps to HPSIM and some cant

We did some tests with other systems
Added a complete rediculus community string, added the trap destination and sended a test trap

He received it in Dell openmanage and HPSIM

So why receives HPSIM traps with a ommunity string that is not configured in HPSIM?
