SQL database

When I run a task or config/repir agents, anything, etc. the screen goes white in SIM and I have to wait a couple of minutes for the results page to be displayed. Is there any indexing that needs to be done or tuning on the SQL database, this behavior is indicative to me of something going on with the DB?
