Server not showing in HP SIM v5

From the server, I have no problem updating the Version Control Agent.
I updated to the latest hp drivers/agents. in v7.51A.

I see other servers on the same vlan.
Any suggestions? Thank you.

That's right. I want HPSIM to discover the server. I created a seperate task to discover just that server. It completes so I'd like to see details for this task, if possible.

Well you can also do it manual, to discover that machine in OPTION > DISCOVERY , you have 3 tab, automatic..manual..host files,click on manual and you have 2 box IP or SYSTEM NAME, try doing it that way,if you got error it will tell you there.

I did it manually by name. No errors. Missing information, System Type, Product Name, OS Name.

Is there anything else I can troubleshoot to make automatic discovery work?

Well if it not seen anything TYPE ,bla bla..then it can't see the HP AGENT,is it well configure( see itself and the server Insight)?

Do you have firewall blocking the port 161/162 ?

Is it started the service(or restart it)?

Did you look if you re Home page managent work well?at least you will see if the information is ok.

Sounds more like SNMP is not set up correctly.
SNMP on the remote server needs to allow the HPSIM server access and needs community names set up that are the same as those HPSIM uses.

The server showed up.

The private Community Name was set to Read_Create. I changed it to Read_Write. I'll try the same fix on other servers I am having a problem with.

That funny all my server are an READ/CREATE and work fine.
I have read document:

NOTE: HP Insight Management Agents must have at least one community string predefined with READ-CREATE rights. Additionally, the HP Insight Management Agents must have sets enabled. To enable sets go to Control Panel>Management Agents.
