Setting new HP-SIM 6.2 with SQL Server 2005 DB

Hi All,

Can anyone share your configuration or any pointer to get the documentation regarding setting up SQLServer 2005/2008 DB for the HP SIM ?

I'm unable to proceed in the DB setup / configuration wizard here.

Thanks.

Re: Setting new HP-SIM 6.2 with SQL Server 2005 DB

I have the same problem.
I've installed MSSQL 2005 express included with SIM install. When SIM install walks through DB configuration I get a message
"Unable to connect to specified host. Please check the Host, Database and Port values and be sure the target database is running. Also be sure that the taget database installation has the latest Service Pack installed."
I've tied to connect to database using MSSQL tools, everything looks ok. The same goes with MSSQL 2008 sp1 standard/enterprise. The only way I've been able to install HP SIM was using remote MSSQL database.
I'm using windows server 2008 R2
I've attached log file

I have the same error msg.
Is there any specifics right to give on the SQL db ?
I'm actually using a domain account as HPSIM and SQL Server are hosted on seperate windows server.
