Software Status shows up as Unknown on G8 Servers

I am running SIM 7.1  All my servers are showing their Software Status correctly (per their baseline) except my new DL380 G8 and BL460 G8 servers. They show as unknown even though they are configured as the older servers and pointing to a 2012.08 baseline.  Any ideas? Thanks

Chris

Check your VCAgent under the home tab, >change settings.  When I upgraded the VCA, it defaulted to login to the VCRM "Using certificate", which didn't work.  I had to change back to "Using Username/Password"

Hello Chris,

Ensure to have the latest hotfix version of HP SIM 7.1

HOTFIX71_028 (Nov 2012) is the latest one.

You can find it on this address:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/pubsw-windows/p410374598/v83417/

I had discovery problems with Gen8 servers and HP SIM 7.1.

Updating to the latest hotfix version solved my problem.

Just an FYI, the VCA agent is no longer needed for software baselining on G8 servers as hpsum.exe v 5 can do this remotely and that is what SIM now uses for baselining.

If my post was helpful please award me Kudos! or Points :)
