Storage Controller Drivers won't update on W2K servers

The following storage Controller drivers won't update on any of our DL360 G3 W2K servers, either as part of a complete support pack installation or individually:-

HP ProLiant 64-Bit/66-Mhz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Controller Driver for Windows 2000.
Installed version 5.0.2156.1
Latest Version 6.1.645.100

HP ProLiant Smart Array-2 Controllers Driver for Windows 2000
Installed version 5.0.2139.1
Latest Version 5.14.0.0

HP ProLiant CSB-6 ATA-100 IDE RAID Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003
Installed version 4.1.730.2003
Latest Version 4.2.805.2005

HP U320 SCSI Adapter, SAS/SATA HBA with RAID and SCxxXe series HBA Driver for Windows 2000
Installed version 1.8.23.0
Latest Version 1.21.17.0

Now in all 4 cases the version numbers are quite different which I guess must be significant.

The error message reads:-

The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system.

Could these drivers have been installed accidently by an early support pack and are not actually required? Our other 2 W2K DL360G2 servers don't have these drivers installed at all. All our G3 servers were pretty much the same spec when purchased although there could be minor differencet which may reflect these additional drivers.

Any information on this would be useful.

Thanks

Lenny

I bet you are running into a known issue with the VCA. See if this helps:

Yes it was exactly the same issue and the suggested fix in deleting the C:\hp\hpsmh\data\cgi-bin\vcagent\discovery directory worked on all 6 W2K servers that were experiencing the problem.

Thanks
