System disappearing (but not realy) and after rediscovery it has many old 'Deleted System' events.
Hello,
When i searched for a node - iLO in this case - it was not in HP SIM (7.2.0).
Searching on it's IP address gave an empty list too.
The ip, fqdn and shortname are in a hosts file which is run via a schedule.
If i run this the node appears again and still has it's events.
Many off those events are 'Deleted System'.
According to the text it may have something to do with duplicate UUID's.
Searching for the UUID did not give the (any) node back.
Deleted the node, rediscover, and all starts again.
How should i start trouble shooting this.
regards, Marcel

Re: System disappearing (but not realy) and after rediscovery it has many old 'Deleted System' event
If you look at the properties of the object do you see the uuid ? Could you share the uuid. If uuid's are not unique the strangest things happen. I've seen ilo's that seem to exist in more than one server, when i checked the uuid the fist bit was 000000000.
hope that helps you...
Kind regards,
Andrew

Re: System disappearing (but not realy) and after rediscovery it has many old 'Deleted System' event
Thanx Andrew,
already checked that.
And the first few characters do not show other nodes than this one.
So still looking.
It seems to be with this specific node and a handfull of others. It's constantly the same nodes. Maybe a hard reseat will help, although not with this one since it's a DL and not a blade.
Regards, Marcel

Hello Marcel,
Are the server serials OK ? Sometimes when the boards get replaced the field engineer does not fill all the fields in de BIOS.
Kind regards,
Andrew
