Unable to discover a server

Hi All,

We have around 700 Servers added to our CMS. Now, i tried to discover a server and it doesnt get added to the CMS. I checked the ping and found it to be fine. I also checked the snmp settings on the agent but didnt find any misconfiguration.

Any suggestions?

Do you have discovery filters enabled? Do you get an error if you try and manually add it?
What about dns, have you tried resolving the name and IP address from the HPSIM Server?

Hi Rob,

I check the dns settings as suggested and found the entry for the agent in the reverse lookup zone to be incorrect.

I will update once we change that in the forcoming monthly maintenance.
