Uninstall HP System Management Homepage

We have one server that is causing us a few issues. We have to remove the HP System Management HOmepage. When we go to the Add/Remove programs and uninstall, it removes it, but, it gives a message saying that the Service can not be removed. So the Service remains. When we reinstall the HP SMH, it installs, but says it can't start the HP SMH service (but it does). But, as a result, we are unable to install HP Version Control on the server as it says that the HP System Management Homepage Win 32 service was not found by the installer.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Have you installed any other agents other than SMH.

If Not, After uninstalling SMH you remove all the HP folders from the system drive.

Now restart the machine and try to install SMH again. It should get installed without any problem

We have the whole PSP 8.30 installed on this server. We've uninstalled everything from Add/Remove programs, and have renamed the HP folder. I've also renamed all registry keys for the HP SMH and when we restart the server, there is still the old service in there for the HP Systems Homepage, it wont uninstall. Even with removing the HP Folder. We've also tried running
:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{3C4DF0FD-95CF-4F7B-A816-97CEF616948F}\setup.exe

But that is the same as Add/Remove Programs.

Hi,

Check your service pack on the OS.
If it is not the latest one, say update to sp2 for windows 2003.
