Unused NIC ports reporting "Major" health issue

I am running 16 ProLiant BL460c G6 blades in two chassises running as VMware hosts. They are connected internally in the chassis with Virtual Connect. The servers have 8 nic ports but only 6 are being used.
How can I disable the ports (not the whole card), or disable reporting on the unused ports, so that SIM does not report the unused ports as "Major " health issue?

I still think this is not possible at the moment.
At least I've not heard of a way of resolving it.
