Update HP SIM 7.1 on 7.2 Unable to connect to specified database

Hi!

There is a problem in case of the HP updating v.7.1 on 7.2. We use remote SQL DB. In case of start of HP Management Advisor no problems with access to a remote SQL DB arise. Advisor requests convergence about a remote DB (IP server, instance name, port) - all OK. But in case of start of installation of HP SIM 7.2 - in a window where are specified convergence about remote DB - I can't specify instance name. As there are also other fields unavailable to editing. Please see attachment.

I have the message "Unable to connect to specified database. Please check the host database and port values provided"

The problem was in the file C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\database.props -

In parameter hp.Database.instance wasn't name instance.

Correctly shall be so hp.Database.instance=Remote SQLDB server host name\\name instance

For us it wasn't the instance name (which can be blank if using a standard SQL install) but the fact that the HP Insight SQL DB name was incorrect in this file.
