Upgrading HPSIM 5.1 to HP SIM 5.3 with SP1

I am in the process of upgrading our HPSIM 5.1 to HP SIM 5.3 with SP1. Our HPSIM 5.1 is a Vmware Virtual Machine with Windows 2003 Standard Edition ( Service Pack 1 ) and with MS SQL Server 2000 DB installed.

Q1)Can I directly upgrade our HP SIM 5.1 with its current MS SQL server 2000 DB on it to the HP SIM 5.3 with SP1 and also install the latest Hotfix for HP SIM 5.3 SP1 as well ? Has anyone seen any issues ?

Q2) Do I also need to install any additional software after this upgrade to HP SIM 5.3 SP1 is done ?

Q3)I can not upgrade the current MS SQL Server 2000 DB on our HP SIM 5.1 VM server to a MS Server SQL 2005 due to the cost of purchasing a new license for it.

Q4) What is the " Minimum " version of the MS SQL database that we could use to upgrade to HP SIM 5.3 SP1 ? MS Server SQL 2000 ?

Q1 Well no you can't if SIM doesn't detect SQL 2005/SQL2005 express it will not up grade

Q2 No additionel software need it.
